The Garden Guild at Helena Hills Farm

Updated: Oct 2

Every farm has its roots—and at Helena Hills, those roots run deep in friendship and community. This spring, I was lucky enough to have my closest friends step in as the inaugural crew of our Garden Guild. Together, we turned bare soil into flower beds brimming with life. Another dear friend gifted me seeds and seedlings straight from her own garden, including the hydrangeas that now line the border of our beds—a constant reminder of generosity blooming right alongside our flowers. Another farming friend has become my unofficial chicken-keeping mentor, patiently teaching me the ins and outs of caring for the flock. She’s even ramping up her egg production, giving us a new farm-fresh product to share with the community. Another Dolly-loving friend has helped at recent workshops on-farm and was such a big help in setup, cleanup, and moral support in between.

Ways to Volunteer 🌿

The Garden Guild is growing, and we’d love to welcome more hands to the farm. There are so many ways to get involved, whether you have an hour or a whole afternoon:

  • Garden Prep – Planting, weeding, watering, and tending to the flower beds.

  • Workshop Setup – Helping with tables, supplies, and finishing touches before guests arrive.

  • Market Help – Assisting at local festivals and events, sharing blooms and farm goods with the community.

With Gratitude 💛

Farming is not a solo journey—it’s a team effort. I could not do it all on my own, and I’m endlessly grateful for the friends, neighbors, and volunteers who continue to show up with open hearts and helping hands. The Garden Guild isn’t just about tending flowers; it’s about cultivating community, joy, and connection.

Thank you for being part of this journey. Together, we’re growing something truly special.
