Welcome to the Garden Guild at Helena Hills Farm

We are so excited to welcome you to the Helena Hills Farm Garden Guild — a community of volunteers, flower lovers, creatives, and supporters helping bring the farm to life.

Whether you’re hoping to get your hands dirty in the gardens, help guests during workshops, assist at markets, or simply spend more time surrounded by flowers and community, there’s a place for you here.

Our farm is still growing and evolving, and the Garden Guild plays a huge role in helping us create meaningful experiences for guests while supporting the daily rhythms of the farm.

Garden & Growing Opportunities

Love being outside? Garden Guild members may help with:

  • Seed starting

  • Planting seedlings and bulbs

  • Greenhouse organization

  • Watering

  • Fertilizing

  • Harvest support

  • Weeding and garden maintenance

  • Seasonal garden transitions

No experience is required — we’re happy to teach as we go. Some tasks are relaxing and repetitive, while others may be more hands-on and physical depending on the season.

Workshop Support

Workshops are one of the most special parts of the farm experience, and volunteer support helps everything run smoothly.

Typical Workshop Flow

Guild members helping during workshops are usually asked to:

  • Arrive about 30 minutes prior to guest arrival

  • Help with setup and guest check-in

  • Welcome guests and help them feel comfortable

  • Assist during crafting or bouquet-making

  • Refill supplies and help tidy throughout the event

  • Help with light cleanup afterward

Most importantly, we aim to create a warm, kind, and welcoming environment for every guest visiting the farm.

Markets & Events

Throughout the year, Helena Hills Farm participates in local markets and community events.

Volunteer opportunities may include:

  • Loading/unloading supplies

  • Booth setup

  • Greeting customers

  • Wrapping bouquets

  • Assisting with checkout

  • Restocking displays

  • Event breakdown and cleanup

We know everyone has different schedules, so shifts are absolutely possible — you do not need to stay for an entire event to help make a difference.

Even one or two hours of support is incredibly appreciated.

Crafting & Prep Projects

Some volunteer opportunities happen behind the scenes and are perfect for creative minds.

This may include:

  • Preparing samples for upcoming workshops

  • Creating small retail items

  • Pressed flower projects

  • Ribbon cutting and packaging

  • Organizing supplies

  • Seasonal décor prep

These projects are often flexible and may happen in small group settings before events.

What to Expect

Helena Hills Farm is a working flower farm and agritourism space. Depending on the season, volunteer days may involve:

  • Heat and humidity

  • Dirt and mud

  • Bending, lifting, or carrying light supplies (but if you can't that's OK!)

  • Bugs, pollen, and outdoor conditions

We promise the flowers, sunsets, and community usually make up for it.

What to Wear

We recommend:

  • Comfortable clothing you don’t mind getting dirty

  • Closed-toe shoes or boots

  • Sun protection (hat, sunscreen, sunglasses)

  • Refillable water bottle

  • Layers during cooler months

For markets or workshops, we may occasionally suggest attire that feels neat, approachable, and guest-friendly.

Scheduling & Communication

Volunteer opportunities are shared through:

  • The Garden Guild Gazette newsletter

  • Group emails or texts

  • The volunteer booking calendar

There is no pressure to sign up for everything. We understand life gets busy, and every bit of support matters.
