This past week, we had the absolute pleasure of welcoming the Hampton Lake Women’s Group to Helena Hills Farm for a special gardening workshop — and it was a day to remember!
After gathering for introductions, guests enjoyed a guided farm tour, meeting our friendly flock of chickens and learning a bit about the farm’s growing plans. It was the perfect way to kick off a morning surrounded by nature, blooms, and great company.
The heart of the day was creating custom shade-loving planter gardens. Each guest designed their own beautiful arrangement using a vibrant mix of:
Ferns for lush, textured greenery
Ivy for its graceful, trailing vines
Oxalis (the charming purple shamrock)
Spider plants with their playful "baby" shoots
Sedum for a pop of succulent texture
Begonias for a splash of color with their delicate blooms
Everyone made a stunning, living piece of art perfect for porches, patios, or shady garden corners — plus new gardening tips and a deeper connection to the farm. After playing in the dirt, we all gathered on the porch with tea, cookies, and light refreshments.
At Helena Hills Farm, we love partnering with local groups for private workshops, offering a unique way to gather, create, and enjoy the beauty of the outdoors. Each workshop includes:
All materials provided
A farm tour and chicken meet-and-greet
Fresh refreshments and sweet treats
Hands-on instruction in a relaxed, welcoming environment

If you're part of a garden club, women’s group, or community organization, we’d love to host your next outing! Workshops can be customized seasonally and tailored to fit your group's interests.
