At Helena Hills Farm, we like to say that the real MVPs of the farm aren’t always visible at first glance—but they’re always working. We’re talking about our honey bees. These tiny, mighty pollinators play an enormous role in the success of the farm, and we’re thrilled to be sharing their latest gift with you: farm-fresh honey.
We couldn’t do this without the help of our local beekeeper, Chris Darmon, who established and maintains the hives here on the farm. His knowledge, care, and support have made it possible for our bees to thrive—and in turn, for our flowers to flourish. We’re so grateful for his partnership and all the buzzing life it brings to Helena Hills.

The Pollinators Behind the Blooms
Every zinnia, sunflower, and blossom that grows at Helena Hills owes something to the honey bees. As they buzz from flower to flower, they’re not just collecting nectar—they’re helping our blooms grow stronger, fuller, and more vibrant through the essential process of pollination. Without bees, our flower fields wouldn’t look (or feel) nearly the same.
Their work supports our peach trees, elderberries, mulberries, and every future fruiting plant we plan to add. They’re not just a part of the farm—they’re at the heart of it.
Why Bees Matter (More Than You Think)
Bees are critical to all of our lives, not just here on the farm. Roughly one-third of the food we eat relies on pollinators like bees. From the fruits on your table to the vegetables in your garden, bees are behind it all.
And here’s a fun fact: the worker bees doing all the pollinating, honey-making, and hive-tending? They’re all females. In many ways, the hive reflects what we value here—community, cooperation, and the incredible strength of women working together.
Stewardship in Action
Having bees on the farm is more than just a boost for our plants—it’s a promise. We are committed to being stewards of the land and the ecosystem around us. By creating a space where pollinators can thrive, we’re helping preserve biodiversity and supporting a healthier environment in an ever-developing landscape.
Farm-Fresh Honey Is Here
We’re so proud to share Palmetto honey with visitors to Helena Hills Farm. It’s raw, golden, and full of local flavor!
