When I opened the gates of Helena Hills Farm to the community, I never expected the kind of support, kindness, and joy that would come pouring in. And time and again, it’s been our Sun City family that has shown up with open hearts and helping hands—making this dream grow deeper roots than we ever imagined. I am forever grateful for this community!

🧺 Okatie Farmers Club: Rooted in Generosity

Before Helena Hills Farm was even an idea, my growing experience started in a 10x20 garden plot with the Okatie Farmers Club. They welcomed my mom and I into their fold with wisdom, patience, and an unmatched passion for the land. Whether they were sharing planting tips, helping us troubleshoot weed management, or showing up at 7AM with compost and a shovel, they’ve reminded us that farming is never a solo act. The twice-a-year plant sales and wonderful friendships we built with fellow farmers will never be forgotten. They’ve become mentors, cheerleaders, and friends—and this farm is stronger because of them.

🪵 Woodworkers of Sun City: From Scrap to Stunning

Every cutting board, wooden bowl, towel holder, wine stopper, and farm table extension — if it’s crafted with care and heart, there’s a good chance it came from the Woodworkers of Sun City. They’ve taken the scrappiest ideas and turned them into beautiful, functional pieces that help the farm shine. But even more than that, they’ve given their time and talents generously, reminding me how deeply creativity and kindness can be intertwined. My training with the club helped me overcome my fear of saws which has become quite handy on the farm.

🏓 Pickleball Crew: Our Fierce, Fun, Forever Friends

Let’s be real—when you combine a love of flowers and a wicked serve, you're family for life. This pickleball crew is the farm’s constant hype squad, my stress relief, and the source of many laughs. You’ve shown up always ready to rally—on the court and off. There’s nothing better than our potluck get-togethers on the farm and celebrating every milestone hit so far. The Dinks hold a special place in my heart.

🌼 Children of Sun City: Friendship in Full Bloom

One of the most unexpected and beautiful parts of this journey has been finding my people—friends whose roots trace back to Sun City through their parents or family, and who have now become some of my greatest supporters, confidants, and farm family. These are the friends who show up on weekends with boots and open hearts—helping me plant, haul equipment, and shape the gardens. They’ve stood beside me through the messy parts of building a brand from the ground up, offering their time, energy, and encouragement in moments I didn’t even know I needed it. They’ve worked behind the scenes at events, run to grab coffee when I’ve run out of steam, and reminded me—over and over—that I’m not doing this alone. Their belief in me and in the vision for this farm has made the soil richer, the blooms brighter, and the journey infinitely sweeter.
