Heaven gained the sweetest little angel in early December. Our Lily girl passed peacefully, closing a long, beautiful, love-filled chapter of our lives. While our hearts are tender, they are also full ā because Lily lived an extraordinary life, surrounded by people who adored her every step of the way.

In many ways, Lily was the original Helena Hills Farm dog ā even before the farm had a name, fences, or flower rows. She was there for the dreaming, the moving, the becoming. From Maine to Florida, from my first apartment to farm dreams taking root, Lily traveled the East Coast right alongside me. Mahopac. Hoboken. Queens. South Carolina. Tiny apartments, busy sidewalks, quiet mornings, and big life decisions ā she was steady through it all. Wherever we were, that was home.
Lily had a way of trusting every new chapter. She hopped into more cars, stayed in more Airbnbs, and explored more places than some people ever will ā always calm, always curious, always content just to be together. She saw seasons change not just in weather, but in life itself.
Years ago, we were given news that suggested our time with her might be cut short. But Lily had other plans. True to who she always was, she stayed ā resilient, gentle, and quietly determined. Those extra years felt like a gift we never stopped being grateful for.
Her final chapter was just as beautiful as the rest. Lily spent her retirement in Sun City, lovingly cared for by my mom and surrounded by softness, routine, and comfort. Golf cart rides, cozy days, sunny spots to nap, and endless affection ā it was the happiest, most tender retirement a pup could ask for. I am endlessly grateful to my mom and my brother for the love and care they poured into Lily during this season of her life.
And of course, we like to imagine that Lily was greeted on the other side by her brother Mojo ā tail wagging, ready for new adventures together once again.
Her long white fur used to follow me everywhere ā on clothes, on chairs, in the car. Itās not everywhere anymore, but her legacy certainly is. Lily taught us about loyalty, resilience, patience, and the quiet power of unconditional love. She showed us how love stretches across states, seasons, and circumstances ā and how a dog can become part of the very soul of a place.
This weekend, weāll be looking through photos, telling stories, and remembering all the joy she brought into our lives. Lily may no longer wander the flower fields or nap on the porch, but she will always be part of Helena Hills Farm ā its history, its heart, and its spirit.
Thank you, sweet girl, for 17 years of love, adventure, and unwavering companionship.
Always loved. Always home. šš¤š¾
